Ceasefire for 24 hours in 20 Syrian Settlements

20 settlements have joined the ceasefire in Syria reaching a total of 2,155 settlements, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
The number of armed groups that have agreed to end hostilities has not changed, still standing at 228, according to the bulletin.
In addition, the Russian representatives in the Russian-Turkish commission on the Syrian truce have registered a total of six ceasefire violations in Syria during the past 24 hours, while Turkey has detected about five cases.
The last day has also seen the Russian military carry out two humanitarian operations in Syria’s in the Aleppo and Homs provinces, delivering 16.9 tonnes of humanitarian aid. In addition, Russia has provided 336 individuals with medical assistance.
Russia and Turkey are the guarantors of the nationwide ceasefire in Syria, which has been in the grip of a civil war for over six years. Syrian government forces are fighting against the opposition groups, who strive to overthrow President Bashar Assad, as well as numerous extremist and terrorist groups, such as Daesh and Jabhat Fatah al Sham, both of which are outlawed in Russia.
