The Supreme Council of Palestinian Youth and Sports concluded on Thursday its summer camps for pioneers with the participation of 30,000 Palestinian children.
The children of Palestine are the hope, the future, the independence and the state, and we see Jerusalem as the capital of our independent state,” Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said at the closing ceremony of the camps held at the presidential headquarters in the West Bank city of Ramallah.
We all believe in the courage of the generations to reach liberation and the establishment of our independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital,” he said, pointing out that “hundreds of thousands of our young men and women carried the flag and led the march from them, some of whom were martyred and some of them were wounded. The march continued and will continue until we gain our independence.
“Abbas said to the young children “You are our hope and our lives are related to you because we see in you the future of Palestine، and we see in you our national independence, and we see you in Al-Quds Al-Sharif.
We are steadfast and persistent, and we will continue in our national struggle until one of our children raise the flag of the State of Palestine on the walls of Jerusalem,” Abbas said.
In turn, the President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Major General Jibril Rjoub said in a speech during the ceremony, that sport is a unified element of the Palestinian people.
Rjoub added that Palestinian sport has achieved significant achievements at all levels and this is a sign of the great development of Palestinian sports.
About 300 summer camps were launched on July 31 and continued for ten days in the West Bank, Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip, as well as Lebanon and Syria with the participation of some 30,000 Palestinian children.
