 The Israeli army fired several artillery shells on Wednesday in the Gaza Strip, two days after targeting the same area, Palestinian sources said.

The sources told Xinhua that the shells targeted the perimeter of the point of “monitoring” of the Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas in the central sector.

According to the sources, the shelling did not result in casualties.

Israeli army spokesman Avihai Adrei said on his page on the social networking site (Twitter), “An Israeli patrol spotted shooting at the security fence with the Gaza Strip without causing injury or damage,” without giving further details.
