The Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the PLO, Saeb Erekat, stressed that the President Abbas and His Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussein affirmed during their meeting today that the point of focus in talking with Washington is what was agreed upon at the Arab Summit held in Amman .

Adhere to the Arab peace initiative and the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and to reject Israel’s actions in addition to refuse the US consulate transfer to Jerusalem, because this is recognition of the annexation of East Jerusalem to Israel.

Erekat said Abbas and King Abdullah  affirmed that the only way to peace is to achieve the principle of two states on the 1967 borders, namely the independent state of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital, to live in peace and security alongside the State of Israel.

Erekat stressed in an interview with Palestine TV that President Mahmoud Abbas briefed His Majesty the King on the danger of continuing settlement activities and imposing facts on the ground and the dictates, siege and closure, especially in the city of East Jerusalem.

The King also said that he will make every effort at the Arab and international levels to end the suffering of the prisoners and achieve their demands.

The King appreciated the efforts exerted by His Majesty King Abdullah II on the international level in defense of the Palestinian cause, specifically what is happening in the city of Jerusalem and the Islamic and Christian sanctuaries therein.

Erekat said that during his meeting with his Egyptian brother Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, he discussed all these issues, especially the solution of the Palestinian issue on the basis of international resolutions.

The president referred to  Gaza Strip and the formation of a national unity government on the PLO program, because there is no state in Gaza or a Palestinian state without Gaza.
