Careem, the region’s leading ride-hailing app today announced its re-entry into the West Bank city of Ramallah, Palestine.

Careem has begun signing up and on-boarding local taxi drivers onto its platform. Launched in Dubai in 2012 and now present across over 90 cities within 13 countries in the greater Middle East, Turkey and Pakistan, Careem is the only international ride-hailing company to set up operations in Palestine. Earlier this year, both Gaza and Nablus were added to the company’s footprint and Careem will continue to look at further, feasible cities across the whole of the country.

Customers can begin booking on-demand, Go Plus rides via the app from today at the same rate as a regular, metered taxi. Careem will be bringing a new level of transparency to the market by ensuring that all fares charged are as per the approved pricing model laid down by the Ministry of Transport.
