The United Arab Emirates (UAE) government through the UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) has contributed US$5 million to help the Palestinians who have been injured in their recent confrontation with Israel.
The funds have been allocated for medical supplies and emergency treatment for the affected victims.
In a statement issued on Monday, the UAE RCS said a special team from its organisation will be involved in the distribution of the said assistance through the borders of Rafah, which is between Gaza and Egypt.
At least 55 Palestinians have lost their lives and another 2,771 injured in the latest and violent confrontation between thousands of angry Palestinians and Israel soldiers in East Gaza, close to the Israel border.
