Israeli war jets and drones carried out after midnight and at predawn on Saturday six intensive airstrikes on different facilities that belong to Islamic Hamas movement and other militants groups all over the Gaza Strip; two civilians were light injured, medical sources and local media reported.
Overnight and at predawn, Israeli war planes and drones hovered over the coastal enclave, where explosions were heard from time to time until early morning hours all over the Gaza Strip as a result of the airstrikes on the military facilities.
In return, local media reported that in response to the Israeli airstrike, militant groups fired around 20 makeshift rockets and mortar shells from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel. The Israeli media reported that no injuries were reported.
Fawzi Barhoom, Hamas spokesman in Gaza said in a press statement that the mission of the militants in Gaza “is to protecting our people and defending them, which is a popular demand and a strategic option.”
“The immediate dealing with the escalation of the enemy and the immediate response reflects the status of militants’ awareness in running and ruling the conflict, send a clear message and guarantees balance of fast deterrence and this is done to force the enemy to stop escalation,” said Barhoum.
The Israeli airstrikes on Gaza were in response to earlier attack carried out by hand grenades against an Israeli army force, that was stationed east of the southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah on the border with Israel.
According to Israeli media reports quoting an Israeli army spokesman; one Israeli soldier was moderately injured and was taken to an Israeli hospital for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, Gaza health ministry said that 18-year-old young man Mohamed Shurab, from the southern Gaza Strip city of Kahn Younis died of his wounds early on Saturday morning he sustained on Friday.
On Friday, clashes broke out close to the border with Israel between hundreds of demonstrators and Israeli soldiers were stationed at the border between eastern Gaza Strip and Israel, where one boy was killed and 200 wounded.
Since the beginning of the rallies and protests, which are called the great marches of return and breaking the Israeli siege on March 30, the health ministry said that the Israeli army killed 139 Palestinians and wounded more than 16,000 others.
The leadership of the enemy will be fully responsible for more aggressions on the Gaza Strip and will pay a very heavy price for its stubbornness, said Hamas armed wing, al Qassam Brigades in a short press statement texted to reporters.
