Al Mezan Center for Human Rights appealed to the international community to shift from the state of condemnation to the state of effective intervention. This appeal aimed at stopping the Israeli violations and protecting civilians in the Gaza Strip.

The center confirmed in a press statement on Saturday that the Israeli occupation forces continued targeting the Palestinian civilians who participated in the peaceful protests along the separation fence in the eastern Gaza Strip.

He pointed out that these forces used excessive and lethal force in dealing with children, women and youths participating in the marches. They also targeted medical staff and journalists, killing 2 children and injuring 112 others, including 65 injured by live bullets.

Among the injured were 25 “children”, “6” women, “3” paramedics, journalists and “3” wounded. The medical sources described their wounds as serious and severe.

The Israeli occupation forces deliberately targeted paramedics and journalists by firing live bullets at them, and using tear gas canisters as a weapon which led to injuring 3 of them.

Al Mezan strongly condemned the Israeli occupation forces conduct, especially in the use of excessive and deadly force against peaceful protesters who posed no threat to the lives of these forces. The Israeli army keeps committing crimes regardless of the international human rights law.

It called the international community to ensure that Israel respects the rules of international humanitarian law and international human rights law in order to enforce justice in the occupied Palestinian territories, to end the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip and to enable the Palestinians to exercise their inherent right of self-determination.
