The Israeli Defense Minister, Avigdor Lieberman, directed an important message to Hamas in the Gaza Strip. This came upon the start of the weekly cabinet meeting on Sunday.
“We will not accept the continuous fired rockets or the released flammable kites from the Palestinian side, and I hope Hamas understands this. Otherwise, it will pay a heavy price,” Lieberman said.
The Israeli newspaper, Haaretz, reported that the Israeli government accepted the terms of stopping escalation, which Hamas and the Islamic Jihad agreed on along with a third party (international mediation). The cease-fire agreement also included cessation of raids on the Gaza Strip.
“Only facts on the ground determine how we will continue responding back against Hamas,” Haaretz quoted a senior official in the Israeli security establishment.
