The Ministry of Education and Higher Education cautions of the consequences of reducing education services that are provided by UNRWA in the next few weeks, which the ministry described as a catastrophe, confirming that such action will affect the date of starting the school year. Therefore, this assures the need to provide alternative services.
The ministry said in the statement that the absorptive capacity of its schools, educational and operational capabilities is not ready for any possible breakdown in the UNRWA’s services.
The ministry called for countries, international human rights and humanitarian institutions, and human rights defenders for the right to education to the prompt intervention in order to pause the possibility of reducing UNRWA’s services which will affect most basic human rights in light of educational and health services that were provided for decades.
