Intensive discussions have been holding in Cairo two weeks ago after a new round of reconciliation meetings between Fateh and Hamas.
The visitation was seen by some as the last attempt of as result of international and regional pressure to implement the reconciliation terms, so that the Palestinian Authority will return to Gaza Strip to be the representative that the world deals with to implement the humanitarian and economic projects that have been allocated to Gaza.
The quick approval of Hamas on the Egyptian paper confused the Fatah movement, which remained stalled for nearly a week before the official of the reconciliation file, Azzam Al Ahmed, handed over the Fatah response about the reconciliation with approval and reservations, but sources said that Abu Mazen, president of Palestinian authority, gave clear instructions at the beginning not to talk about a prove or reject but stay on procrastination.
The visit of Nikolai Miladinov, the UN envoy, and Abbas Kamel, minister of intelligence, to Ramallah conveyed a clear message to Abu Mazen that there is an international decision concerning an improvement of the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
Moreover, it aims to establish economic and relief projects, which requires the return of the authority in Gaza, promoting Abu Mazen to rethink the reconciliation after he was intransigent towards this file.
This message was a pressure on Abu Mazen, who is at a crossroads, either to agree to reconciliation and control Gaza or to leave it.
